Dear Front Row

25 Apr

Dear girl who sits in the front row,

I saw the way you looked at him and how eagerly you offered to let him borrow your pen, but I got there first in both the literal and figurative sense.
I saw the way you batted your eyes and heard you laugh too loud at his jokes and try to say something brilliant to impress him. Unfortunately for you, he wasn’t even listening–he and I were too busy having our own private conversation.
You seem like a nice girl but you should probably stop trying because in the end, I was the one walking home with him and all you got was an unfortunate nickname.

Love,
the girl who sits in the second row
